This sheer number of votes highlights the support & appreciation by the general public for our hospitality sector and all who contribute to it. “Now in their 14th year, the Irish Restaurant Awards returns with a record breaking number of public nominations (over 130,000). The President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland is Paul Lenehan. Over 1000 restaurant and hospitality business owners and staff celebrated their hard work and achievements at the Awards Event, which saw many well-known restaurateurs of Leinster turn out to see if they had won one of the prestigious awards. The Best Gastro Pub award has been won by O'Gorman's in Portlaoise. The Best Customer Service Award for Laois was presented to Kelly's Steakhouse in Portlaoise. The Laois Pub of the Year is The Thatch Pub. The Best Newcomer is Notions coffee shop in O'Connell Square, Mountmellick. The winner of the Best World Cuisine in Laois is Mayur Indian Restaurant in Portlaoise. The Best Café in Laois award is given to young restaurant Get StuffeD - Coffee Shop and Homemade Food The Storeyard, Kea Lew park in Portlaoise. Treacy's on The Heath, Portlaoise has also won the Best Casual Dining award. The Best Restaurant Manager was awarded to Niall Treacy of Treacy's. The luxury five star resort also won the Best Hotel & Guesthouse Restaurant.īelow: Ballyfin Demesne collecting an award. Solas garden centre in Portarlington also won twice, taking the Laois Best Sustainable Practices award, and the Innovator of the Year award.īest Emerging Irish Cuisine in Laois was awarded to Ballyfin Demesne. The restaurant in the MDA centre won the Laois Local Food Hero Award and the Laois Free From award. Mountmellick restaurant The Hare's Corner, with proprietor Seamus O’ Brien (below), won two county awards. "We are delighted and very proud to announce that we did it again!
